Employment & The Workplace
Graham wins
Graham reckons... It's not lack of work it's lack of payment that's bringing the country to it's knees
I work for myself and I've never been busier, but can I get clients to pay me inside 30 days? Can I @#%$ !
HughJarse wins
HughJarse reckons... That I.T is a tool of the devil and was put on this earth to punish innocent people for wanting to turn their backs on pen and paper
I manage the application from hell.....
cedric wins
cedric thinks... public sector workers should be happy with their 2.5% say rise and should not go on strike. We are in a downturn in the economy and they should be happy with what they get especially when some in the private sector will get no pay rise..
steve loses
steve believes... All employers’ and employees’ earnings should be public knowledge
Ultimately this could lead to a more open and fairer society as the discrepancy in peoples wages would be there for all to see. It would also help combat, sexism, racism, nepotism, classism, favouritism and probably a few other ‘isms’ too.
Employees would have a clearer understanding of how much a company considers you’re worth compared to your colleges.
If you ask me, the less secrecy there is society the better!
andreajamjar loses
andreajamjar is convinced... That women do not make good boses in the work force.
Correct me if i'm wrong but who has ever worked for a woman and been happy in their job? With male bosses they have one type of personality at work wether it be a good one or bad one you know where you stand, but with a woman boss, jekyl and hide, one minute she's happy with your work, the next you can't do a thing right, she's happy one minute, the next, won't talk to you, women bosses just don't work as a whole!!!
BusyBee loses
BusyBee thinks... Employers should be allowed to monitor their employees use of the internet and reduce their pay accordingly if they spend too much time on non-work related sites.
Difficult to do probably but so many of my work colleagues seem to spend a lot of time on the internet sorting out non-work stuff. What is wrong with doing that in the evening? Productivity must really have dropped since employees have been given access to the internet and email.
Barry loses
Barry thinks... Young people have enthusiasm and ideas but older people have experience and wisdom. Older people should therefore hold the more senior positions in business.
